Detailed information

Product detailed description

The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 – TRAY is an eight-core desktop processor from the first generation of AMD Ryzen, based on the Zen architecture and designed for the AMD AM4 platform. Combining 8 processing cores, 16 threads and a modest 65 W TDP, it offers balanced performance for productivity PCs, multitasking, digital content creation and gaming systems equipped with a dedicated graphics card.

The AMD Zen architecture represents the first generation of Ryzen processors and uses a 14nm FinFET manufacturing process. The Summit Ridge processor delivers efficient instruction processing, simultaneous multithreading support and advanced operating frequency management. It is designed for users who need a higher core count to handle multiple workloads concurrently.

Eight physical cores and 16 processing threads enable efficient handling of multiple applications simultaneously. AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) technology provides two processing threads per physical core, which is particularly beneficial for rendering, photo and video editing, software compilation, virtualization and other applications that take advantage of multithreaded processing.

The processor operates at a 3.0 GHz base clock and reaches a maximum Boost frequency of up to 3.7 GHz. AMD SenseMI technology continuously evaluates processor operating conditions and optimizes performance. Extended Frequency Range (XFR) technology also enables automatic frequency increases when thermal and power conditions allow.

The processor cache configuration includes 16 MB of L3 cache, 4 MB of L2 cache and 768 KB of L1 cache. Fast cache memory helps reduce latency when accessing frequently used data and improves computational efficiency. This configuration makes the processor suitable for a wide range of everyday and more demanding productivity tasks.

The integrated dual-channel DDR4 memory controller officially supports memory speeds of up to 2667 MT/s. Actual achievable frequencies depend on the memory module configuration, module count and motherboard. Dual-channel operation provides sufficient memory bandwidth for multitasking, office applications and working with larger files.

The PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface enables the connection of a dedicated graphics card with high data transfer bandwidth. The AM4 platform also provides options for connecting SSDs, hard drives and other peripherals through the interfaces available on the specific motherboard. The processor supports PCIe 3.0 rather than the newer PCIe 4.0 standard.

The AMD AM4 socket allows the processor to be used with compatible motherboards. Support depends on the specific motherboard model and BIOS version, so the manufacturer's CPU support list should be checked before installation. The processor is primarily intended for systems based on the first-generation AMD Ryzen platform.

The processor features an unlocked multiplier, allowing overclocking on compatible motherboards. AMD Ryzen Master software can be used to monitor operating parameters and adjust settings. AMD GuardMI technology, hardware virtualization and instruction sets including AVX, AES and FMA3 are also supported.

The default TDP is 65 W, allowing the eight-core processor to operate with reasonable power and cooling requirements. Its maximum operating temperature is 95 °C. A suitable AM4-compatible CPU cooler is required for stable long-term operation, especially when the processor is regularly subjected to demanding workloads.

The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 does not include integrated graphics, so a dedicated graphics card is required for display output. The TRAY version is primarily intended for PC builders and system integrators. The processor is supplied without retail packaging or a CPU cooler, allowing users to select a cooling solution appropriate for their build.

The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 – TRAY is a suitable choice for users seeking an eight-core processor with 16-thread support on the AM4 platform. With its 65 W TDP, unlocked multiplier and DDR4 support, it is particularly attractive for productivity PCs, multithreaded applications and versatile desktop systems.
