The ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial is a premium E-ATX motherboard based on the AMD X870E chipset and AM5 socket, supporting AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series desktop processors. Its robust 24+2+2 power stage design, Dynamic OC Switcher, Core Flex and advanced tuning features are designed for high-end gaming, workstation and extreme overclocking systems.

Four DIMM slots support up to 256 GB of DDR5 memory, ECC and Non-ECC unbuffered modules, NitroPath DRAM and AEMP technologies. Expansion is provided by two physical PCIe x16 slots with PCIe 5.0 support when using compatible Ryzen 9000 and 7000 processors. Both slots feature SafeSlot reinforcement and PCIe Q-Release Switch mechanisms.

Storage can be expanded to as many as 7× M.2 drives: three M.2 slots are integrated directly on the motherboard, two are provided by the ROG Hyper M.2 card and another two by ROG Q-DIMM.2. With Ryzen 9000 and 7000 processors, two onboard M.2 slots and both ROG Hyper M.2 slots can support PCIe 5.0 x4. Four SATA 6 Gb/s ports are also available, while extensive M.2 cooling includes a 3D VC M.2 heatsink.

Networking includes dual 10Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 with 2.4/5/6 GHz bands and 320 MHz channel support, plus Bluetooth 5.4. The rear panel provides a total of 14 USB ports: 2× USB4 40 Gbps Type-C and 12× USB 10 Gbps ports consisting of 4× Type-C and 8× Type-A. Audio is handled by a SupremeFX 7.1 ALC4082 codec paired with an ESS ES9219 QUAD DAC and optical S/PDIF output.

A distinctive feature is the 5" full-color LCD display for system information, ROG animations and personalized content. Dual BIOS, BIOS FlashBack, Clear CMOS, Q-Code, LN2 Mode, ProbeIt, Safe Boot and ReTry provide extensive enthusiast and overclocking functionality. The motherboard uses the E-ATX form factor and measures 30.5 × 27.7 cm.
