ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero BTF is a premium ATX motherboard designed for high-performance gaming systems, high-end work computers and modern builds with AMD Ryzen processors on the AM5 platform.
The AMD X870E chipset and AM5 socket provide support for AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series processors, giving the motherboard a strong foundation for current and powerful future configurations.
The BTF design uses hidden connectors on the rear side of the motherboard, helping create a cleaner system interior, simpler cable management and a more elegant appearance in PCs with a transparent side panel.
Four DDR5 slots support up to 256GB of RAM and high frequencies up to 8200+ MT/s OC with Ryzen 9000 processors, including support for AMD EXPO, ASUS AEMP, DIMM Fit, DIMM Fit Pro and NitroPath DRAM technology.
The motherboard offers top-tier storage with five M.2 slots and four SATA 6 Gb/s ports. With Ryzen 9000 and 7000 processors, three M.2 slots with PCIe 5.0 ×4 support are available, plus two additional M.2 slots via the chipset with PCIe 4.0 ×4 support.
The primary PCIe ×16 slot supports PCIe 5.0 and is equipped with Q-Release Slim for easier graphics card removal. SafeSlot construction increases slot strength when using heavier modern graphics cards.
For modern wireless connectivity, Wi-Fi 7 is available with support for 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, 320MHz channel width and Bluetooth 5.4.
Networking consists of two Ethernet ports – Intel 2.5Gb Ethernet and Realtek 5Gb Ethernet. This also makes the motherboard suitable for fast home networks, NAS storage, streaming or more demanding work transfers.
Rear connectivity includes two USB4 Type-C ports at up to 40 Gb/s, eight USB 10Gbps ports, an HDMI output, two LAN ports, optical S/PDIF output, gold-plated audio connectors, BIOS FlashBack and Clear CMOS buttons.
The ROG SupremeFX audio section uses the ALC4082 codec, ESS ES9219 QUAD DAC, quality audio capacitors, SupremeFX shielding and Dolby Atmos support for clean and more spatial sound.
The motherboard also offers extensive cooling features including CPU Fan, CPU OPT, AIO Pump, W_PUMP+ and several system fan headers, making it ready for powerful air and water cooling.
Advanced ASUS Q-Design features such as M.2 Q-Latch, M.2 Q-Release, Q-Antenna, Q-Code, Q-LED, Q-Connector and FlexKey make system installation, diagnostics and servicing easier.
