WD Gold 4 TB (model WD4002FYYZ) is designed for professional deployment in data centres and server systems where long-term durability and performance are essential. Thanks to its robust design and advanced internal algorithms, the drive handles workloads of up to 550 TB per year without reducing its service life.
TLER (Time-Limited Error Recovery) technology limits the time spent recovering bad sectors, minimising the risk of outages in RAID arrays. The drive has been tested for compatibility with various RAID controllers and storage systems to ensure seamless integration into larger infrastructures.
The drive design withstands vibrations and shocks: up to 70 G during operation and up to 300 G when not operating. Operating temperature is 5 – 60 °C and storage temperature –40 – 70 °C. Favourable power consumption (approximately 9 W during reading) helps keep operating costs low.
