The ASUS TUF GAMING TUF-BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 is a high-performance next-generation dual-band gaming router supporting the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard. It combines high wireless throughput with four 2.5GbE ports, gaming-focused features, advanced network security and ASUS AiMesh support for building a larger whole-home network.
Wireless performance is rated at BE6500, delivering up to 688 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and up to 5764 Mbps on 5GHz. The router supports channel widths up to 160 MHz, 4096-QAM, OFDMA, MU-MIMO, Beamforming and Multi-Link Operation (MLO). Six fixed external antennas provide a 2×2 configuration on 2.4GHz and 4×4 on 5GHz.
The hardware is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1 GB of RAM and 256 MB of flash memory. Wired connectivity includes 1× 2.5GbE WAN and 3× 2.5GbE LAN, meaning all four Ethernet ports support 2.5 Gb/s connectivity. A USB 3.2 Gen 1 port is also available for storage devices and network USB applications.
Gaming features include Gaming Port, Gear Accelerator and OpenNAT, helping prioritize gaming traffic and simplify network configuration for multiplayer games. Adaptive QoS provides additional traffic management, while supported operating modes include Wireless Router, Access Point, Repeater, Media Bridge and AiMesh Node.
Network protection is provided by ASUS AiProtection Pro, including malicious-site blocking, two-way IPS and infected-device prevention and blocking. WPA3, parental controls, guest networking and extensive VPN capabilities are also supported, including WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPSec, Instant Guard and VPN Fusion. Management is available through the ASUSWRT web interface and ASUS Router App.
