ASUS EX-B250-V7 is an ATX motherboard designed for home, office, gaming and heavily used systems with Intel processors on the LGA1151 socket.
The Intel B250 chipset supports 6th- and 7th-generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors as well as selected Intel Pentium and Celeron processors for the same platform.
Four DDR4 slots allow installation of up to 64GB of memory in a dual-channel configuration. The board supports DDR4 2400MHz with 7th-generation Intel processors and DDR4 2133MHz with 6th-generation Intel processors, including Intel XMP support.
Three PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slots are available for expansion cards, one operating at x16 and two at x4. There are also three PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1 slots for additional accessories such as network, audio or other expansion cards.
Storage devices can be connected via six SATA 6Gb/s connectors. The board is therefore suitable for systems with multiple SSDs or HDDs, work PCs and versatile home systems.
The integrated HDMI output allows use of the graphics core in a compatible processor. Maximum resolution via HDMI is up to 4096 × 2160 px at 24Hz or 2560 × 1600 px at 60Hz.
Network connectivity is provided by Intel I219-V Gigabit LAN with ASUS LANGuard technology. It helps protect the network interface against overvoltage and electrostatic discharge.
The audio subsystem is based on the Realtek ALC887 codec with support for 8-channel HD audio. The board uses separated audio layers, shielding and higher-quality audio capacitors for cleaner sound output.
The ASUS Expedition series is designed for long-term operation. The board therefore offers features such as Anti-moisture coating, SafeSlot Core, USBGuard, ASUS 5X Protection III, DIGI+ VRM and a stainless-steel rear I/O panel.
Rear connectivity includes HDMI, RJ-45 LAN, 4× USB 3.0, 4× USB 2.0 and six audio connectors. Internally, the board offers a USB 3.0 header, USB 2.0 header, TPM, COM, S/PDIF out, fan headers, front audio and a system panel.
